About

Designed to help you develop your skills and knowledge of the digital standards for the Victorian Government and will focus on the How to Guide: Choose design principles for an Application Programming Interface (API).

This is a hands-on workshop that will equip you with the basic foundation of what an API is and how to use an API, a deep dive into the API design standards (and why they matter), plus you'll gain first hand experience in building an API yourself.

The workshop will be facilitated by Jordan Walsh, Product Owner - API Platform, in the Strategic Communication, Engagement and Protocol Branch of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Jordan was formerly a Developer Evangelist at Xero and API Product Manager at Whispir.io, Jordan has worked for customers in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Europe across a range of industries with the goal of using APIs to create more robust, economical and customer focused solutions.

Note: Please bring your own laptop to the session.
